Kid Zone exhibit moves to library gallery

TEMPE, Ariz. – “Kid Zone: Celebrating 20 Years of Happy Memories,” an exhibit that features posters created by children and staff involved in the city of Tempe Kid Zone programs, will be on display from Feb. 2 – March 9 in the Tempe Public Library’s Second Floor Gallery, 3500 S.

Rural Road.

A short history of the Kid Zone program is part of this free exhibit.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The gallery will be closed on Feb. 19 for Presidents’ Day.

Friends of the Tempe Public Library fall book sale

 

 

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Friends of the Tempe Public Library will hold a fall
book sale on Saturday, October 28, in the library’s lower level Program
Room. The event will begin with a special members-only sale from 9-10
a.m. The sale will open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

           

The sale will feature a wide range of materials at bargain prices,
including children’s books, paperback and hardback fiction and
non-fiction books. Members of the Tempe Historical Society also will
sell merchandise at reduced prices from the Tempe Historical Museum Gift
Shop, including cards, jewelry, toys and other gift items.  

 

Community members who wish to become a member of the Friends may
purchase a membership on the day of the sale or complete a membership
application at the Library or via the Friends Web site at
http://community.tempe.gov/libraryfriends/. The Friends Web site
provides complete information on the group’s activities in support of
the Tempe Public Library.

 

The Friends of the Tempe Public Library is a non-profit organization
that, through its fundraising activities, sponsors programs for adults
and children, purchases library equipment and furnishings, and promotes
the library’s activities. The Tempe Public Library is at 3500 S. Rural
Rd., on the southwest corner of Rural Road and Southern Avenue. For more
